A "Non-Traditional" College Experience Pt. 1

In today's fast paced world, the dream of a college degree can be demanding to one. In some instances, one may think that college does provide a system to where all students can thrive and ultimately succeed, but in most cases they do not. Today, I will speak to two young ladies of color and ask them, 'what has their college experience been like so far' and also 'what is demanded of them to succeed in this environment'. Their experiences may be different, but their struggle for a college education is the same. Please take a look at the link below to watch their response.

A "Non-Traditional" College Experience Pt. 2

As stated from our interviewees, the college experience can be one that teaches you lessons in ways you'd never imagine. The college experience is not just the "best years of your life", but can also be filled with hardships and triumphs over them. We also learned that one's cultural background could shape one's overall college experience as well, it can impact their sense of belonging to the overall campus culture. In the end both of the students state that their degree is the ultimate goal and one should continue to pursue it, no matter what.
